It happened again

Yep. Broken right tibia. Here's another foor good measure.

I was bouldering, sent a problem, downclimbed one move then jumped to the crash pad. It was a 15-20 foot fall my tibia just didn't feel like taking. I've taken larger falls in the past, even without a crashmat. Something about this one just didn't jive.

The orthopedist gave me the option of surgery or cast, and since I haven't been at my job 90 days and therefore don't have insurance, I opted for a cast.

Doc says 3-6 months of cast. My break is not surrounded by much vasculature and doesn't receive much blood flow, thus stunting the healing process.

I'm getting really good at Grand Theft Auto (the original on PS1), been reading some books (Lamb by Christopher Moore, Eaters of the Dead by Michael Crichton so far, both excellent), and playing the guitar.

Considering the circumstances, life really is pretty good.
